Bobby Douglas Wrestling

Coach Douglas' system will provide you with a unique learning experience. These camps are designed to help every individual reach their potential. Our drill system will give you a better understanding of wrestling. We offer special instruction for beginners and have coaches available to work with heavyweights. Areas stressed will be hard wrestling, technique, running, weight training, diet, film observation, psychological training, and competition. You can tell us what you want to focus on and we will make it happen.

Bobby Douglas Elite Camp and Border Wars Tournament

May 23-May 26, 2008 | Grades 7-12

Commuter Camper: $140
Bobby Douglas, retired Head Coach, Iowa State Cyclone wrestling team, Olympic competitor, 2004 Olympic Coach, National Coach of the Year, coach of multiple National Champions, will be conducting a 4 day clinic/wrestling tournament in Southwest Missouri at Reeds Spring High School, May 23th – May 26th, 2008.

Scheduled clinicians include 2004 NCAA National Champion Zach Roberson, All-American Wrestlers, Zach Thompson, Dwight Hinson, Nick Passolano, David Zabriskie, Mitch Mueller and Nick Gallick.

This camp is for wrestlers ages 7 through High School. Parents and coaches are encouraged to attend at no extra charge. This will be a commuter only camp, but with multiple hotels and resorts in the Branson area, finding accommodations should pose no problems. Hotel reservations, however, should be made ASAP, as the Branson area will be busy prior to the Memorial Day weekend.

Camp Cost: (Includes Border Wars tournament entry fee) Individual Wrestler: $140 (Early registration discount of $120 if registered prior to April 15th) Team: (10 or more signed up at one time): $120 per wrestler.

Age Groups:

A wrestler’s age on the date of the qualifying tournament will determine his/her’s age group for that particular tournament. If a wrestler is 12 years old now and turns 13 before the Border Wars National Championships and qualifies in the 11&12 age group, then that wrestler will have to participate in the Border Wars Championships at the 13&14 age group. This is the same for all age groups!

Policies and Procedures

Full-time staff will supervise camp participants at all times. Wrestlers will be required to attend all activities and comply with all camp rules and regulations. We will provide one instructor per ten campers and Bobby Douglas instructs at all camps.

What to Bring
Each wrestler must bring wrestling equipment, casual clothes, towels, soap.

Housing
Resident campers will be housed in air-conditioned dormitories on the Iowa State University campus. Each camper will be supplied with standard linens in the room. These can be changed on the request of the camper. We will provide 24 hour supervision for all campers staying with us.

Discounts
The following discounts are available for all camps (one discount applied per person):

Early Bird Discount: $20 off if registration received before April 15, 2008.

Cancellations and Refunds
Administrative commitments require a nonrefundable deposit. If the camp fee is paid in full and an application is withdrawn 14 days before the start of camp, you will receive a refund less the $75 deposit. No refunds will be issued within 14 days prior to the first day of camp. Should a camper leave camp due to injury or illness, the camp fee is nonrefundable.

Health Insurance
The parent/guardian's personal or injury insurance policy will be utilized as the primary insurance for treatment of injuries and hospitalization for illness or injuries incurred during the sports camp. A certified trainer will be on hand at all times.
